GCHS was founded in 1892 with the initial graduating class in 1896. The High School was moved to new sites in 1910, 1929 and to its current location in 1970.
Basketball began in 1910, baseball in 1908 and football in 1929.

Rob Sexton is the New Baseball Coach:
A Grove City native, Sexton graduated from Pataskala Watkins Memorial HS, after two All-OCC baseball seasons. He was a 4-year letterman at Wright State, twice earning All-Horizon League honors. A 14th round MLB pick, earned him 4-years of minor league play for Boston and Arizona.
He was the pitching coach at Ohio Christian University (2020 and 2021) and Canal Winchester HS (2023), before being the assistant coach at Ashville Teays Valley HS for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
